Rubii Red is an emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait artist, specialising in acrylic and watercolour paintings, while also recently dabbling into digital art. She grew up in foster-care in Melbourne, VIC, but was born in Cairns, QLD. Rubii strongly identifies as Aboriginal and Torres Strait and is still on her journey of discovering who she is as a First Nations woman. She has always been a creative person from a young age, whose passion ranges from painting into film. Harnessing this energy has led to producing short-slideshows and films, as well as an artistic practise in painting and drawing established from the age of five. It was not until Rubii opened her Instagram account that she started building a name for herself as an artist and creator via showcasing a digital portfolio. In 2014, Rubii started a YouTube channel titled Life of Rubii with the rationale of sharing with the broader public stories from her community, as well as broadcasting vlogs, events, thoughts, and many other things of interest.

She hopes to grow her YouTube channel so she can tell people’s stories, generate important discussions with others, and share her culture on an interactive platform she uses on a day-to-day basis. Her goals for the future are to raise money for causes supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to help fund programs for Indigenous youth in Australia, and to continue to support and help her community to grow and thrive. She also aspires to work with young people in the Arts, encouraging their creativity by showing them that nothing is impossible.
