Rubii Red is a proud Lama Lama woman from the Cape York peninsula, but grew up in foster care down in Melbourne, Victoria.
She is a content creator, creating artworks and making video content about her culture, about her art and life. Known mostly for her artwork, Rubii’s work shares aspects of herself and her culture with her audience. Not only that, but her work also discusses political and social topics happening around the world. Rubii is an activist and wants to create works that reach people and start conversations - whether those conversations are positive or negative.
Rubii has created artwork for a variety of different brands and organisations like; Electronic Arts [EA], XBOX ANZ, Rising and Yarra Trams, Western Bulldogs Women’s team and Google just to name a few. As well as having her art featured in Vogue Australia and The Lifted Brow.
Rubii’s art is heavily influenced by; comic books, anime, manga, and webtoons. She hopes to one day draw and publish her first webtoon or comic. Rubii also has a passion of videography and aims to tell her stories and her cultural journey through video.
With her gaming and streaming career, Rubii alongside four other friends, created the First Nations content creator collective, BlakoutGG. A collective that aims to build a community for Mob within gaming and streaming, to connect and support each other and organise monthly community games,
Rubii’s dream is to work within community, and work mainly with kids in care. She also wants to continue to create art, have her own solo show and continue to tell stories visually.
